July 29, 2009 By: Ryan Denehy After DC Shoes posted their warehouse basketball video a few years ago similar clips flooded YouTube. Lately some nutcases have been putting up a series of videos called "Straight Street Hoops" - taking DC's trick shot concept to a decidedly more "street level." The results are a must-watch. Oh, and their hoop is little more than a punched out milk crate and broken lawn chairs. |

July 24, 2009 By: Ryan Denehy Kryptonite bike lock to your noggin! Overzealous pedestrians are the worst. When I was in the fifth grade I got pushed off the sidewalk and into oncoming traffic by an old lady. Granted I was riding really fast and almost took out her granddaugher, and having lived through the depression and two world wars she felt well within her rights to do so. I like reggae music as much as the next guy. But I stop well short of using phrases like "Dis is the Island mon" and wearing faux dreadlocks. Canadian mountain dwellers on the other hand, apparently do not. |

July 15, 2009 By: Ryan Denehy Bankrupt and riddled with lawsuits, once-promising brand Iron Horse has been sold to Dorel Industries for a meager $5.2 million. Dorel also owns Cannondale, GT, Schwinn, Mongoose and Pacific Cycle. Not a bad group of brands to have under one roof. Apparently bidding in federal bankruptcy court started at $2.7 million and went up in increments of $25,000. This whole thing is still a huge m |

Monday Randoms: Billy and Looch, Joe Perrizo July 13, 2009 By: Ryan Denehy Serious rippage from the Northwest. First up is a 48-second clip of dirt jump silliness with Billy Lewis and Luciano Worl (aka Looch), followed by a skatepark session with Joe Perrizo that finishes off with a HUGE cork flip. Both clips courtesy of Thrashbike. |
