Day three of the Nike US Open of Surfing and day two of the Women’s Nike US Open of Surfing finished without any major upsets in either contest, as favorites including John John Florence, Brett Simpson, Julian Wilson, Carissa Moore and Courtney Conlogue advanced.
“I think having that early morning heat today allowed me to shake the nerves out,” said Conlogue. “I think I was on the wrong equipment yesterday and today my board was going perfectly through those flat sections. I’m glad I had that morning heat to work things out.”
