Holly Lyons: Would You?

Our Would You? this week is a professional skateboarder who not only revolutionized the sport for her gender, she’s among the greatest female skateboarders ever, and set the bar for those who followed.  Our Would You? this week is Holly Lyons.

 

Lyons actually started as a professional snowboarder, competing in superpipe and boardercross events.  Lyons competed in the debut of women’s skateboarding at the Summer X Games and returned to compete for a total of five times.  Lyons is also the owner of the clothing company SK8*GRL, and if you’ve ever skateboarded at the Truckee skatepark near Lake Tahoe, thank Lyons for the $150,000 she raised to help construct it.

 

Pros: She’s can handle just about any situation you can dream based upon how much punishment she's taken on a skateboard.

 

Cons: Something about skateboarding chicks that can scare the bejesus out of a man.
