etnies has always been a trailblazer in the skate world,  back in ’86, etnies skate shoes became the first global footwear and clothing company completely owned and operated by skateboarders. etnies was also the first company to develop the first pro model skate shoes, and has seen them develop into advanced footwear like Ryan Sheckler’s pro model skate shoes. The company features a full line of sick threads, and sponsors a world-class team with pro athletes like snowboarders JP Walker, Simon Chamberlain,  and surfers Brett Simpson, and Mason Ho.
Always evolving and staying ahead of the curve, etnies is at the forefront in the maturation of the skater apparel market, offering clothes that are rad to skate in and roll to the office in and keeping at the forefront of the green movement,  contining to expand its Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree project into new countries and with even more shoe styles for men (Jameson 2, Jameson 2 Eco, Dory and Dapper), girls (Caprice Eco and Venus) and kids (Kids Jameson 2 and Kids Jameson 2 Eco). Through this project, etnies is helping to reforest Sao Paulo, Brazil with the help from Trees for the Future, a leading nonprofit organization planting trees worldwide through seed distribution, agroforestry training and in-country technical assistance. Together with Trees for the Future, for every pair of shoes within the program that etnies sells, one tree will be planted to help replenish the Atlantic Rainforest which only has seven percent of its original rainforest remaining.
