Portugal is all over the news this week, because it was the site of big wave surfer Garrett McNamara's world-record setting 90-foot wave. That got us thinking about another big wave surfer, Portuguese speaking Maya Gabeira. Past winner of Billabong XXL's women's performer of the year award for many mind blowing big wave sessions, Maya has equal form both in the barrel and on the beach. Here's a gallery of sultry snapshots of Maya which makes us want to book a ticket to Carnival and profess our love to this sea going goddess.
