Billabong Pro 2012 - Lay Weekend Gallery

The Billabong Pro kicked off to a solid start with Round 1 on Thursday August 16 with 4-5 foot surf at the legendary Tahitian reef break Teahupoo. Round 2 continued on Friday with smaller yet cleaner conditions. However by Saturday the swells that ignite Teahupoo's world famous barrels fell silent leaving contestants and spectators to find alternative means of entertainment as Lay Days were called through Monday. The forecast is looking quiet right through the week  but that doesn't mean that diversions are lacking. From mountain hikes to submersible reef explorers, Teahupoo provides plenty of paradise even with Mother Ocean decides to take a day off.
