Is it X Games time already?
Where does the year go?
The good news this year is that every singly ski discipline will be televised to some extent... the bad news, is, well, let's just look at the schedule.
And since I am a reckless prognosticator and have no reputation at stake, I will throw in all my podium guesses (with the caveat I have not been closely following injury news).
All times are ET:![]()
Thursday, Jan. 28:
ESPN 2: 12pm-3pm Men's Slopestyle (sharing broadcast time with snowmobile qualification, but three hours of airtime should be plenty to get some good action)
Friday, Jan. 29:
ESPN 2: 12pm-3pm Women's Slopestyle Finals (talk about getting shit on: the women's slope final is tape delayed, on ESPN 2, at 9 in the morning PT, and is sharing that time with qualifying for five other sports... you will see about five minutes of coverage. I call 1) Kaya Turski 2) Sarah Burke 3) Grete Eliassen
Saturday, Jan. 30:
ESPN 2: 4pm-6pm Men's Slope Finals I called Tom Wallisch earlier, and I am sticking by it. The underground sensation busts out into the American consciousness with a gold medal victory... he will be a household name by sundown on this date... 1) Wallisch 2) Hatveit 3) Carlson (I think I've picked Sammy every year to win gold in slope... except this one)
ESPN: 9pm-11pm Women's Superpipe Finals Here's some respect for the ladies, primetime on the big network. Much as I love to predict a good upset, 1) S. Burke 2) Jen Hudak 3) Roz "would you like to buy another vowel?" Groenewoud
Sunday, Jan. 31:
ESPN 2: 7pm-10pm Men's Pipe Finals Hot damn, it's going to be a good one... I count at least five guys who could win this thing, but, just for the hell of it, I am going to go: 1) Riddle 2) Bertoni 3) Dumont Why not?
Still get chills from this one (mute the audio):
