Wait a minute, let me get this straight: The X Games are going to build a big, burly concrete skatepark for the new Park competition (last year's was made of wood) and then... TEAR IT DOWN?
More details as they become available, but here's a quick suggestion for the X Games people, the Maloofs, and anybody else who's throwing some money around behind these contests: Build out of concrete, but pick a location where you can leave the park behind for the public!
Just think how epic it would be if the 15 year legacy of the X Games to date now included 15 bitchin' concrete pro-worthy public parks, littered across the land, or if those plazas California Skateparks is throwing up for Maloof Money Cups were permanent. Time to start thinking forward, folks! Why can't these big competition course designers/builders team up with the Tony Hawk Foundation and/or Rob Dyrdek Skate Plaza Foundation and make this happen?
