The weather was a factor all day Friday at the 13th Winter X Games. A heavy snow fell most of the day slowing both the pipe and slopestyle courses. But as they say, the show must go on. In men's Slopestyle Qualifiers Shaun White needed a strong second run just to qualify for finals, while Chas Guldemond qualified first with two solid runs. In women's Superpipe Ski, Sarah Burke won her third straight X Games Gold in the event by throwing what many are calling the greatest run in women's pipe history. We'd have to agree, click here for more on the event. Torah Bright won women's Snowboard Superpipe, avenging her loss to Gretchen Bleiler last year. Bleiler fell on both of her runs and was forced to pull out of the competition after suffering a concussion. The most hyped event of the evening was Snowmobile Next Trick. Everyone in the crowd was anticipating Levi LaVallee's double backflip attempt, the first in history, and he did not disappoint. While the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful, LaVallee provided the most exciting moment of X Games thus far. Dane Ferguson won the event by default, he was the only athlete to ride away clean from his jump.

Totino's Field Notes

Totino's Field Notes - Road to the 2010 US Open of Snowboarding. It's been an interesting year for Totino's team riders Danny Davis and Mason Aguirre. After starting strong in the Fall and early season, with great contest results at the Totino's Open in Breckenridge, both riders suffered injuries. Danny is out for the year, but Mason recently came back and plans to throw down at next week's US Open of Snowboarding in Stratton, VT.
