10th Annual X-Dance in SLC
X-Dance, the annual action sports film festival kicked off it s 10th year on Thursday. Screenings, forums, parties, Q&A sessions, and one awesome awards ceremony with the industries top athletes and filmmakers make Salt Lake City the place to be. Feeling a bit left out? Head over to the X-Dance website and watch a few trailers or maybe even buy a film or two.
Danny Davis Update
One day after winning the Winter Dew Tour at Snowbasin, Snowboarder Danny Davis suffered a fracture to his spine and pelvis. A week ago he underwent his first surgery to repair the fracture to his L3 spine followed by another surgery on Thursday to repair the left side of his pelvis. Both surgeries went as planned and while he has a long road of physical therapy ahead all reports show that his sense of humor is still intact. Kelly Clark and Shaun White Take Final Grand Prix
The final US Grand Prix of Snowboarding finished off this weekend with a few epic runs allowing a few other athletes to grab a spot on the Olympic team. Shaun White, who had already won a spot on the Olympic team was able to play around with his run and the results were legendary as he landed his latest trick a double McTwist 1260. Louie Vito, Scotty Lago, Kelly Clark, Gretchen Bleiler, and Hannah Teter also earned their spots on the Olympic squad with their performances in Park City.
Quiksilver Announces The Ultimate Wave Tahiti Premiere
Quiksilver announced Tuesday that it s new movie The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D film for IMAX theaters will be premiering February 8th at the California Science Center for a selected guest list who will follow their viewing of the film with a Tahitian-style after-party. Didn't make the guest list? You'll have to wait until the 12th to see it yourself, check out the website for a theater near you.
Ryan Dungey and Jake Weimer dominate in Anaheim
Monster Energy pulled off some sort of magic act getting the Big A ready in time for their latest Supercross events. A week of ridiculous rain lead to clear skies just in time for Ryan Dungey and Jake Weimer to win the Supercross and Supercross Lites this weekend. Their victory was nothing new, these guys have been scoring some big points all season and both are in first place overall. Go to the Monster Supercross site to check out all the standings.
Free Flow Tour's Weekend Ends With More Cancellations then Victories
Both the Keystone and Bear Mountain Gatorade Free Flow Tour Competition's were cancelled for this weekend due to weather. The few lucky amateurs who decided to show their stuff at Killington still got a chance to compete and winners were announced yesterday: Brendan Wail, Mike Perie, Pheobe Novello, Peter Engen, Kai Wiggins all came in first for their events, Novello grabbing the title for both Women's Snowboard Slopestyle and Halfpipe. 15-Year-Old Skateboarder Victim of Hit-and-Run
Nevada Authorities are on the look out for the driver (pictured here) who hit a young skateboarder and drove off earlier this month. A witness grabbed his camera phone and got the shot of the driver who neither stopped nor called 911. Check out the article posted in the Las Vegas Sun for more info.
