It seemed like this weekend was the jump start we needed for the new year, welcoming action sports out of its hibernation with a variety of notable happenings all around Southern California. By Lauren Heurkins

Chaz Guldemond
Guldemond and Anderson Win Slopestyle at Grand Prix
Congrats to Chas Guldemond and Jamie Anderson who took first place this weekend at 2nd Mammoth US Snowboarding Grand Prix. Chas pulled out an epic run with a Cab 9, backside 1260, cab on to backside 360 off, gap to 5050, backside rodeo, and a switch backside 900. Jamie also dominated with a front side 360, backside 180, board slide 270 out, and a huge frontside 720. Both riders were excited about the win, Jamie brought out some new tricks to get her the title, meanwhile Chas said he was just happy to see a podium again. Expect more greatness in Park City later this month.

Shaun White & Kelly Clark - Olympic bound
Shaun White and Kelly Clark Secure Olympic Berths
Mammoth was home to some fierce competition on the half pipe this weekend. In the end it was Shaun White and Kelly Clark who achieved the most notable successes - both achieved their second 1st place results, which guaranteed them spots on this year's US Olympic Team. On their heels are Danny Davis and Gretchen Bleiler, respectively, each of whom nabbed top podium spots as well.

James Stewart and Ryan Dungy were head to head until the last lap.
Stewart and Weimer Take Supercross in Anaheim
Monster Energy Supercross kicked off its season with an exciting weekend in Anaheim on Saturday. James Stewart took home the win in teh 450 class followed closely by Ryan Dungey. In the Lites class Jake Weimer lead the way across the finish line followed by Trey Canard, Ryan Morais, and Blake Wharton all following closely behind. The race moves to Phoenix's Chase Field next Saturday and will be returning to the Big A the following week.
Agenda Tradeshow Hits Huntington Beach
The Action Sports industry hit the Huntington Beach Hyatt with full force this weekend with the Agenda Tradeshow bringing out the top labels to show their new products for Spring and Summer 2010. There were several live art displays, all of your favorite brands, music, and some amazing new stuff for you to drool over. Check out our photo gallery from the event and be looking for a few videos to be headed your way soon.
Free Flow Tour Winners in Big Boulder
Vail and Big Boulder were home to the first winners of the Gatorade Free Flow Tour this past weekend. Some of the top amateur free-ski and snowboarding competitors came out for the events. The few lucky winners will get a chance to compete at the finals at the end of the season. Congrats to the winners: Will Mayo, Sarah Polmounter, Jack Strain, Tanner Coulter, Cody Boan, and Gill Montgomery.
Americans Flood Australia's Dream Tour
The 2010 Dream Tour will be soon be responsible for a big increase of American tourism down under, with a large percentage of the competing surfers representing the US of A. Rookies Pat and Tanner Gudauskas, Brett Simpson, and Nate Yeomans were recently added to the roster and will head down to Australia's Gold Coast, where the Americans will make up a whopping 22% of the competition.
Skateboarding's Mass Signings
It was a big week for skateboarder's to go pro and get a few new sponsors. Here are some of the big winners: Jamie Palmore with Osiris, Dan Murphy with Foundation, Dyllon Horne with Hoodlum, and Luan Oliveira with Flip.
