With all the Olympic hullabaloo going on you might think the rest of the action sports world was at a stand still. Not so. Mavs went off, Dyrdek talked and another way cooler snowboarding contest happened this side of the border. Check it.

Scotty Lago Scandal - By now we're all aware of the Scotty Lago Scandal. Critics say he was representing America and shouldn't have been acting so immature. We say, the dude just won a Bronze medal--the culmination of his career and was blowing off steam and having some harmless fun. In the words of TMZ, he's a snowboarder, give him a break.
Shaun White - let the good times roll.
Shaun White - Shaun White continued to be the most popular action sports athlete this week. A gold medal, appearances on Oprah, and even in Playboy - for Mr. White - the good times just keep getting better.
Bright with Teter and Clark
Torah Bright - Miss Torah Bright is a lovely lass from down unda that overcame injury and the mighty American lineup to claim her first Gold Medal. Couldn't have happen to a nicer Sheila.
Kazu's crazy du.
Kazu Kokubo - Japan's snowboarding star has been getting blasted in Japanese Media for his lackluster appearance at his arrival in Vancouver for the Olympic games. Dreads, loose tie, shirt untucked. Sounds like the uptight Japanese need to follow his lead.

Mavericks Goes Off - Finally.
Mavericks went off this past week and Chris Bertish took home the grand priz in 20 foot classic Mavs. Though some onlookers got roughed up by the heavy surf, Bertish calmly claimed his status as a big wave charger.
