Travis Pastrana's Practice Jumps
So we all know that Travis Pastrana is planning on shattering car-jump record on New Years Eve in Long Beach. Of course he s been doing a few practice jumps and after smashing up his car real good he had this to say, So, um, as it turns out it s very difficult to jump a car. Practice makes perfect, right? Perris Raceway holds Christian Craig Benefit Ride Day
Perris Raceway saw some top riders turn out Sunday for it s fundraiser for Christian Craig, a new member of the Troy Lee/Lucas Oils/Honda team who injured his spinal cord during practice last month. Surfaid International Announces 2010 Fundraiser
Founded by Surfer/Doctor Dave Jenkins, Surfaid International is a non-profit devoted to bringing health, well being, and self-reliance to the peoples of the isolated island regions of Western Sumatra. The annual Swim4Humanity Event will be taking place in New York, New Jersey, and California. Prizes will be given to swimmers who raise the most money with the grand prize being a surf trip to Indonesia.
Killington Snowboarder Dies
After getting reports of an unconscious man on the expert trail, Thursday, Killington ski-patrol performed CPR and sent the man to the hospital. Not much is known about the incident, which caused the death of the 20-year-old snowboarder, but Killington representatives did say that he was wearing a helmet and did not fall from a chair.
Skiing Studies Show Snowboarding to be the Safer Sport
Researchers who have been studying skiing injuries in Vermont for the past 40 years announced some surprising results. Turns out that skiing is a lot more dangerous then snowboarding. Researchers said that while only 40 skiers die a year, the number is much lower for snowboarders. Snowboarding injuries are also significantly smaller. But perhaps the most interesting finding was that skiers are much less likely to crash into others on the slopes then their snowboarding counterparts.

Billabong bought Surfstitch.com, Austrailia s #1 Online Surf Store, only weeks after buying Swell.com in November. Both online retailers continue to sell several items by some of Billabongs top competitors.
