I'm from New York, and I basically never go home. When I have time off from school, I usually go to Utah, Jackson or Tahoe to ski. It's a little better than shredding the ice coast. Since I'm never home, my parents tend to come to Colorado every so often to see me. They come on the weekends. So, that means they come when I am skiing. My mom doesn't ski, and my dad is an intermediate skier. So, you're probably thinking a weekend in the mountains with my parents is hell. So wrong. They know I am going to do my own thing during the day. All they expect from me is that I stay in the plush slopeside condo they rented for the weekend and that I eat the delicious food at the fancy restaurants we go to. Not too shabby. I'm writing this now because my dad is flying to Denver tomorrow morning to meet me in Keystone for the weekend. Jackpot!

It's stuff like this that makes me wonder if I should be getting a real job come graduating in December as opposed to the ski bum lifestyle I have been more or less living for past couple of years, and am currently planning on continuing as I got a job two days a week for the winter. I'll be living on Ramon and PBR in a hole in the wall condo, certainly a far cry from the lavish treatment I get when my parents come visit. If I were to get a legit job, I could probably afford such nice accomodations on ski weekends. But, then again, I'd be skiing on the weekends, a far cry from the four plus days a week I normally log. I guess it all has to do with priorities. And, right now, mine are at the ski 150-plus days a season, not at the living luxuriously stage. I'm assuming at some point my aspirations will change. Until then, I'm certainly not going to force the change.
