A lot went on this week in showbiz and nothing was more exciting than Britney’s poor-formance.
Clearly she was so saddened by her terrible display that she felt the need to show off her vagina, can’t blame her, it always makes me feel better.

Then to top it all off this freak show comes to her defense. Apparently this thing has a development deal with a major record label and will be appearing soon on MTV. Atta way MTV.
On other news Kanye West and 50 Cent each dropped albums on the same day. Coincidence? I think not. Does anyone else not really give a shit? I know one person is with me and that’s BJ, check his 80000 word diatribe on all this garbage here. I guess I’m not being totally honest in my hating on Kanye, I usually feel Kanye’s shit and the mixtape he dropped at the end of May was absolute fire. But the piece of shit he packaged and peddled to us earlier this week is just criminal. I was on Defgrip the other day and stumbled across a post on Kanye. Below the article in the comments section some douche bag had the nerve to say that, “Kanye is an inspiration to struggling black artists.†Are you fucking kidding me? Kanye West may be an inspiration to every loser-ass Kid Robot buying, limited sneaker wearing puke out there but holding him up as an inspiration to struggling black artists is a farce. Is this any way for an inspirational figure to act? I think not.
But enough dogging on Kanye, I actually give him a fighting chance of bouncing back from this hiccup, 50 Cent on the other hand….. Well he isn’t even worth another sentence. I will leave the showbiz section with this. Enjoy
Chris Crocker says LEAVE KANYE ALONE!
ASRrrrrr……..
My week started off at the Action Sports Retailer tradeshow in beautiful San Diego. San Diego always has its fair share of hot chicks but on this weekend every year it transforms into a magical land where 9 out of 10 girls are hotter than any girl you went to high school with. See what I mean here.
Besides the hot chicks and free booze, ASR (and trade shows in general) are pretty lame. It’s a big "cool-off" or "duel-of-cool" (pick your favorite) where everyone in the “industry†gets together to look at each other (and get wasted, myself included). And while I’m on a rant, if I see one more fucking fedora I’m going to stab myself in the eyeball. I swear to god you can’t throw a rock in the air in Venice without hitting a fedora wearing scummer in the forehead and at ASR the concentration was even more dense. I wasn’t the only person to notice. Rob Brink had something to say about it as well albeit a little bit more eloquently than I.
Skate
I’m going to go ahead and say the biggest news in all of skateboarding this week was the King of the Road. Banquet’s very own Colin Bane did a fantastic job covering the event and even snuck in to the KOTR after party, lucky bastard. The results are as follows and this vid says anything and everything that I can say about the contest having not been a part.
1.) Blind
2.) Foundation
3.) Black Label
4.) Zoo York
The eS Game of Skate went down at ASR. Chris Cole took out Nyjah and Mike Mo came in third at the pro contest. Alex Mizurov took the AM event to no one’s surprise. My question is why didn’t the Am winner and the pro winner square off?
ÂÂ
Mizurov took out Cole at last years final and I have a sneaking suspicion he would have done the same this year given the chance. Maybe I’m crazy. Anyhoo here is our edit of the contest, not the greatest because some website Reel Comp had the exclusive rights to livecast the event and we had to film from the stands.
In other news, EA released Skate. this week and boy am I glad. I’ve been looking for something to suck me of my precious time and now I've found it. Take a look at the intro which is absolutely bananas. I am so stoked to play this game I can’t even tell you.
Check the website here, and read Colin’s review here and BJ’s review here.
BMX
I am just getting into BMX so excuse me if I miss something important this week (email me with updates in the future content@bnqt.com). I will say that I saw the teaser for Josh Harrington’s new flick Endsearch, looks pretty sick. Take a look.
The trailer for Brian Purdy’s new flick F This S also surfaced but the copy I nabbed from bmxonline.com was too small to look good in our massively robust player. Check it out here though.
I also had the pleasure of seeing the Give D/Defgrip edit. This crew from San Diego throws down and the filmmaking isn’t half bad either. Big Ups to Give D, looking forward to more.
