This is a pretty incredible video of a chairlift essentially disintegrating in a matter of seconds. During testing at Winter Park, CO in the summer of 1990 a double chair decoupled and began to roll backwards. With the heavy side of the chair on the right (normally upload side) the entire cable begins to pick up speed destroying the chairs one after another as the hit the load station. Scary stuff!
