Last Monday I decided to swim out at a local spot by my house in La Jolla. To my surprise, Wardo was doing his thing. He was pulling into some of the deepest barrels I've ever witnessed at this particular reef, making barrels that literally seemed impossible. Joining him were a regular staple of locals who also have this wave wired. Joining me in the water was Tavarua boatman and big wave charger Johnny "Monster" Maher. Johnny was coming off of a minor rip injury so opted to swim with his GoPro HD cam. Here are some of the photos of session and also some video footage courtesy of Monster

Ozstar De Jourday is no stranger to this reef.

Tavarua owner and La Jolla local, Jon Roseman, always seems to find the barrel.

Even with a solid crew on it, there were still a few that got away.

Ryder McKey grew up in La Jolla and prefers the retro approach. It's seems to be working well for him here.

If this wave is on you can count on Brent Cole to be getting deep barrels.

Here is a little video clip shot and edited by Johnny Maher. Coincidentally, the music playing during the clip is by La Jolla Locals Dare Devil Jane.
OMG!! What an action packed, wave filled, tube riding session> Everyone was ripping! An excellent Local-Jam. Once again blown-away by RK. As well as by the rest of the crew - what a hotbed of talent it is, here in LJ. 100% Pure Local Talent, the likes of which you won't find, (not at this extent), anywhere. Period. Was that Henry Hunt? Geez,, everyone seemed to be on-fire, including John and Anthony, and their respective mediums of photography, as well. And how did I miss the boat by not knowing about Dare Devil Jane? I haven't heard ripping music this good, in a very long time. Ripping! And by the way, who's in this band and when/ where are they playing next, by the way. I really enjoyed viewing this video, and listening, both.
