Clint Fast of Vermont Sportscar describes Travis Pastrana's 600 lb/ft torque Subaru STI rally car. This is pretty much the same as the normal STI rally car, but with a differently set up suspension, and all the co-driver stuff removed to save weight.
Pastrana's normal co-driver, Christian Edstrom said, "I am as happy as can be they didn't install my seat. I like to co-drive, but I'm not much of a swimmer!"
I wouldn't be surprised if some of you guys are nuts enough to want to go with him, though. Who wants to go and who doesn't and why?
So, take a look at the Subaru Travis will be sending into the air on New Year's Eve. It's an impressive example of both ground and airborne vehicular performance - we'll have more on that later.
And in the same way the car has been prepped to perform at its absolute best, the Long Beach Fire Department is also preparing for anything to go wrong, including the possibility that Travis ends up in the water at Pine Street Pier in Long Beach's Rainbow Harbor. Video after the jump.
