So this has nothing to do with action sports but get used to it, I'll be blogging on a range of topics. I've been all about Vice for years now and have been even more on their jock of late because of VBS.TV. If you haven't checked it out click the link, it really is what internet video programming should be. As Content Director hear at Banquet I make no secret of my admiration for what those guys do. Enough of the junk fondling and professionalism. What I really like is their abilitiy to go the biggest rave in Eastern Europe, un-apologetically show copious amounts of Eastern European tail and gratuitous partying and still come off looking intelligent.
In the Raving in the Black Sea piece Vice sends three European staff to cover Kazantip, a month long rave held in a different location each year. This particular year Kazantip was held in an abandoned nuclear facility in Crimea, an autonomous republic of the Ukraine. The four part piece covers everything from festival politics, promiscuous sex, the Russian mafia and even includes a comment on what this all means in post-communist Eastern Europe. Truly remarkable stuff.
