"TREATS" Full Movie from WhatCoast on Vimeo.
Tristan Sadler hails from Pennsylvania, spends his winters in Utah, and summers at Mount Hood. Being surrounded by snow all year long isn't too bad, and Tristan was able to put this efforts into a full movie this year, with fellow East Coasters, Utahans, and Oregonians (well they live there in the summer, so they're not official residents, I guess). The result is an eclectic "local" video. Watch and enjoy! Tristan took a moment to share some insight about the movie.
Give me the lowdown on what "Treats" is.
"Treats" is a little snowboard flick that is just about good times and having fun! Featuring a lot of riders from all over the states: Pennsylvania, Utah, Colorado, Oregon etc. and it's short and easy to watch! It's from WhatCoast.blogspot.com based out of Ogden, Utah.
Who's in Treats?
Brandon Hobush, Josh Bishop, Tristan Sadler, Drew Eflin, Moss Halladay, Cody Lee, Chuck Lengle, BearCub Mandela, Jordan Soohy, Jordan Noe, Ian Macy, Cooper Thomas, Steve Lauder, Danny Buller, Graham Banks, Zach Lancaster, Parker Worthen, Sam Elliott and many other riders.
What was your inspiration for doing a full movie and releasing it online? That seems to be a trend in local movies this season.
It was just a good way to let everyone enjoy some snowboarding for free! And, I figured that more people will end up watching it, compared to if it was just on a DVD..
What the heck happened to your arm!? That's a pretty intense break (see first part in the video).
I got hurt Feb. 4th last winter trying to hit a rail. Everything went wrong...not much snow and my gut was telling me, "no" but I didn't listen to it, (laughs). So, I ended up hitting some stairs head first and broke my forearm in half and shattered my collarbone! It wasn't too fun, but I guess it happens sometimes right? (laughs)
Funniest thing that happened during filming.
Funniest thing...not sure about one certain time, but I always love when older people stop to watch us hit rails in town. They have no idea what's really going on, but they sometimes act like they do, and stop to talk to us and try to give us tips on what to do. I had this one guy take my camera and try to teach me how to film my friend skating. I was like, umm okay (laughs).
Plans for the upcoming season?
This season I just hope to ride as much as possible and film a ton with some good friends. I just simply want to have fun! And, once the season is done hopefully put together another fun little flick for everyone to enjoy!
