Something is clearly amiss in the ocean waters off Sydney, Australia. A 15 year-old surfer named Andrew Lindop suffered severe leg injuries after being attacked by a shark off North Avalon beach. The boy is currently in stable condition after undergoing four hours of surgery to heal lacerations to his thigh.

The boy was surfing a morning session with his father when the shark bit the boy on his hip, calf and hip muscles. The boy's father, Charles, who had just caught a wave, heard Andrew scream and saw his son thrashing around in the water. Charles quickly dragged Andrew to shore and a helicopter took him to a hospital.

Reports didn't say what kind of shark attacked the boy, although it was believed to be about two meters long. The two previous shark attacks involved a Bull Shark taking a hand and leg of a diver, and a Great White attacking a surfer and nearly taking his hand.
