The North Face has long been known for making quality gear with innovative features - from bomb proof Gore-Tex jackets to technical mountaineering outdoor equipment.

Last year TNF added to its product portfolio with a free Iphone Snow Report app. Generally well received the initial app was good but had some mixed reviews - hence version 2.0.

Improved with features like a Twitter feed, so you can tweet about the conditions you're experiencing as well as an avalanche forecast, so you're tweets aren't "Help I'm dying," the new incarnation looks sleek and seemingly well thought out.

Additional enhancements include expanded 24, 48 and 72-hour forecasts and increased resort details so you can map out that misty off-piste zone everyone's been talking about.
