Take notes on how machined and handsome the Ratchet guard is up close...I've been riding the Gsport Ratchet guard for a couple of months now and I can honestly say its the best thing thats ever happened to me and my grinds. This thing takes loads of abuse and can hang with any sessionin' I throw at it, coping, ledges, rails, fire, brick, wood... Its all good on this thing! It keeps my prized Ratchet hub out of harms way and my spokes don't bend or break off anymore either, did I even mention how good lookin' it is?

Follow my easy steps and you'll be shreddin' with protection in no time! This thing is machined out to minimize the weight but still retains maximum strength where other guards tend to fail. I'm not taking the grinder to this thing after every few sessions to smooth out the grind damage or nothing, anyone who runs a hubguard knows what that's about. You keep your back turned for too long and your shitty guard turns into an even shittier enemy and starts wearing way inward and chewing away at your spokes! I ran a Mutiny V2 guard for a while and it worked with my Ratchet hub but I had to customize the shit out of it from the very beginning to fit my frame and I constantly had to maintain the guard with the grinder and change out spokes....

Steven Seagal finally encounters a worthy adversary...I haven't had to maintain this thing once yet with the grinder and being that grinds are a staple part of my shred diet, you best believe I've been puttin in some work on this thing! I would recommend this for those of you who own Ratchet hubs and enjoy grinds as much as I do, it's well worth the price because it saves your precious hub, spokes and time in the end. Besides, if Steven Seagal can't destroy it, who really can?

"The first comment on this thread is NOT me. The GLAND will NOT be discontinued any time soon, it still sells just fine. George" Prove it. Tits or GTFO.

Yes, the GLANDS will be discontinued due to the lack of popularity probably because they don't look quite as attractive and compact as aluminium alloy guards. They were also designed when 48 spokes were 'the norm' since 48 spokes provide more support for the guards against impacts forces than 36 spokes. We have had riders complaining about breaking spokes on 36 spoked wheels so it would be a wise choice to discontinue them to avoid any liability claims. BMX is moving on to the lighter spectrum of 36 spoked wheels so it's not my fault that riders choose to sacrifice a measly 3 ounce at the expense of considerable and noticeable amount of strength. I reckon there will be enough GLANDS kicking around in shops for quite a few years since they aren't selling very well and are very very durable, since obviously the few riders who prefer them replace them after a few years of use. I'm sorry about this but I have no power to veto these kinds of decisions since I'm just a designer. Hope this helps.

I heard from a Odyssey spokesman G-Sport glands are going to be discontinued and these will replace them because not a lot of people are buying em cause they're ugly, is this true?
