Tonight, the X Games hosts the ever-exciting FMX best trick comp (with Pastrana!), an event that is by far the most exciting of the games for the sheer danger of it: the level these guys is on is ridiculous: If one guy lands a double backflip, then how do you win? By doing The Volt. Someone sticks the Volt? Better pull out the frontflip. It's absurdly dangerous.
So that is why it was nice to read about Brian Deegan's new venture in the New York Times this morning, the American Freestyle Motocross Association. When Cameron Sinclair crashed in Madrid at X Fighters several days ago, the insurance policy he had with AFMXA arranged for translators to help the doctors and helped defray the 190,000$ [sic] cost of his mediflight back to Melbourne, Australia. It's by far the most best and most-fitting tribute to Jeremy Lusk that Deegan could ever come up with.
