Thought I'd share a feel-good story to brighten the mood of surf fans bummed because of the poor conditions down in Teahupoo.  A 48 year-old Aussie named Neil McCallum was taking a morning stroll along Kirra Beach when he noticed a young kangaroo diving into the ocean to go for a swim. Concerned about a pair of hammerhead sharks spotted recently in the same area, McCallum kept an eye on the young kangaroo until the young marsupial got caught in a riptide.

With the kangaroo struggling, McCallum decided to go home, grab his longboard, and rescue the drowning kangaroo. The video below shows the kangaroo having a difficult time getting on the board but eventually, with McCallum leading it back to shore, the kangaroo took a minute to catch its breath before hopping away.
