I didn't bring my car out here this summer. It makes it way easier to find parking at the mountain. Luckily, Danny drove us to the mountain on the fourth of July inbetween and found the best parking spot you can getl. Staale, Tom, DT and I got some turns on a warm, yet windy day before the Fourth.

This is the makings for an American cocktail on the Fourth.

Oregon has really had a difficult time making up its mind on consistent summer weather this year. The Fourth of July was pretty cold out, so we forgoed floating the river for a bonfire behind the Demo Center in Govy. (l to r) Danny, AJ, Tom, Staale, Masey and Connor.

There are two Stephanies that work at Windells. Steph Denchak is Red Steph (as you can see with the two thumbs up). It was her 20th birthday, so we all went out to Thai Home to get dinner. Head Counselor Chuck Lengle (left) and Vermont shreds Jesse Curran and John Murphy brought some whiskey to enhance their beverages while dining. Unfortunately, they ordered ginger ale, but received Dr.Pepper, so they drank whiskey and Dr.Pepper all night. It was pretty awesome.

Session 4 was really hot, with temperatures nearing 100 degrees for a few days. In order to keep the campers happy, Austin Hironaka and buddies climbed onto the roof of the kitchen to surprise campers by pelting them with water balloons.

Waterballoon madness. Being a camper at snowboard camp is pretty much amazing.

The Technine Team was at camp and they brought a dumpster on hill as part of the feature they created.

Like I said, it was really hot all week. Chuck G. and Lazz got down on some waterballoons at Rome Stache'r Night.

Enzo and Jeff Rudinski and regional riders for Rome's Northwest contingent. They're both stand up dudes. You can tell by their nice sportcoats. What camper wouldn't be alarmed by these two walking toward them in sportcoats and fake mustaches, while carrying waterballoons?

Eating contests are getting more popular every session at camp. Campers love them and they draw a huge crowd of spectators. Technine decided to put on a powdered donette eating contest. 15 donuts to a camper. It was awesome.

Marc Frank threw out some schwag pre-contest to hype the kids up.

Dylan Peters is a young Vermont rider who made out like a bandit at camp, winning multiple snowboards and jackets while he was there. Here, he attempts his most difficult trick of the week: eating donettes in record time.

After the winner was declared at Technine's contest, a giant food fight started up. Windells filmer, Alex Erickson was caught in the middle of it.

The foodfight lasted for a about ten minutes and during the entire time, this camper sat in the corner and continued to eat donettes. Good thing he was wearing his helmet.

Head counselor Jeremy Anderson had to clean up the enormous mess. Downtrodden, he sighed. "This is why High Cascade doesn't do eating contests."

Up on hill, I had to go over to the moon on the mountain for a pee break and on my way back, stumbled on this tiny vertebrae, centered in the middle of a big rock.

Here's the vertebrae looking majestic with the mountain behind it. It's like the circle of life from The Lion King or something.
