Splinters Movie Premier Tonight!
In the 1980s an Australian pilot left a surfboard in the seaside village of Vanimo. Thirty years later the people of Papua New Guinea have taken the sport of surfing and made it their own.
From Emmy Award-winner producer Perrin Chiles and the feature film debut of Adam Pesce, the documentary Splinters will have their West Coast premiere tonight at the Lido Theatre in Newport Beach.
The documentary describes how the sport of surfing has gained importance and popularity in a developing nation.
From the Splinters website they explain; A spot on the Papua New Guinea national surfing team is the way to see the wider world; the only way.
