Shaun White barely qualified for finals in Slopestyle yesterday but left little doubt as to who was best today. White scored a 96.00 in his second run of the day by throwing a backside 720 over the channel gap, something no other competitor even attempted. White's win gave him a record setting 8th Winter X Games gold medal.

“It was unreal,” said White.  “I missed out on a gold medal the past two years, so to win it was awesome.”

Scotty Lago place second scoring an impressive 94.66 and Norway's Mikkel Bang placed third with a 91.33.
