Shaun White apologizes for Nashville arrest.

Shaun White apologized to his 2,355,784 Facebook fans this morning (approximately 8:54am PST ) for actions that got him arrested this weekend.

"I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests. I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior." - Shaun White

The superstar snowboarder and skateboarder was charged with vandalism and public intoxication by Nashville Metropolitan Police Sunday after he pulled a fire alarm and destroyed a hotel phone at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

White was in Nashville to attend the wedding of singer Patrick Carney. Guests reported that White was "friendly and nice to everyone," but "became a little less friendly and a lot more wild" as the night progressed.

Within minutes of  the status update, the page received thousands of likes and words of encouragement for the 2-time Olympic gold medalist.

Police responded to a 2am call Sunday after White fled from hotel staff. Reports indicate the two-sport X Games champion left the hotel and attempted to hail a cab but was stopped when staff told the cab driver they were calling the police.

White tried to escape on foot but crashed into a fence injuring himself. He was taken to the hospital and treated before being released and booked on Monday. A police mug shot shows the action sports celebrity with a black eye.

This isn't the first time White has had a run in with the law due to mischievous activity.

In December of 2007 he was cited with second degree criminal tampering in Breckenridge, CO after security cameras caught him setting off a fire extinguisher.
