Sean Penn will play the father of 9, who is now 85
and still surfing.Sean Penn aka the legendary Jeff Spicoli from 1982's "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" will return to the screen as a surfer in a new project.
The still-untitled film is based on the life of Doc Paskowitz, who lived with his wife and nine children in a camper 30 years ago and spent all his time surfing and training his kids. While traveling around the country to surf at the nation's best beaches, several of his kids became fixtures on the competition scene in their teens. The Paskowitz clan later started a surf camp that still continues today.
There is a 2007 documentary called "Surfwise" based on the Paskowitzs, and now Hollywood will tackle this surfing family with Sean Penn to star as the head of the household. The project is still in the early planning stages, but hopefully the film will pick up momentum because it sounds like a good time.
Here is the trailer for "Surfwise" - it'll get you pumped for the film.
