For those who have never heard of Seth, he is a highly sought after author and speaker pulling around 80G for a presentation. His blog is one of the most read in the world and his voice and vision bring an authentic angel to marketing and community building. His latest book Linchpin Are you indispensable? -was the focus for his talk in Dana Point last Thursday night.
It all began with a very determined Bryan Elliot who founded and nurtured the So Cal Action Sports Network into existence. (http://socalactionsportsnetwork.com/) After getting a confident NO for the third time from Seth, Bryan chose to turn Seth s own wisdom on him with the don t take NO for an answer theory when you really want something. Well it worked and im grateful for it, my hat goes off to Bryan for seeing this through and bringing such a powerful speaker to share with our action sports community. The event had some great sponsors like Board Walk Ice Cream!! The founder of www.skip1.org also told her story and it s one to be inspired by. Visit the website to learn more and skip something to make a difference for her movement.

It was amazing to hear Seth talk into my current situation of holding back from taking big risk of being an artist not by painting or filmmaking but as a entity that chooses to be different and outspoken. This is true for most everyone I believe, whether they re aware of it or not. I have been evolving with and through a film project that has been a real emotional investment and risk for me- paralyzing at times from my own insecurities and limiting beliefs. So it was very inspiring to hear his examples of historical figures that went out on a limb to make a difference. He spoke about doing things that are emotional risks and that really matter to you and I. What do I mean by really matter? Well it s the sort of thing that is unique to you for instance as a form of expression that is not following the norm and it brings people together to find a voice for positive change. It says something about what you believe in. For instance, a movement that is directed for the betterment of society not a war against anything. An example is the war against cancer which I feel is misconstrued in negative verbiage. More than another greed fed money-making opportunity, its an opportunity to speak the truth about what causes cancer. To me, its about a 10% genetic and 80% diet and lifestyle. The other 10% is likely karma -which is more inherent and dynamic than you may think. Finding a cure for a phantom disease is disturbing to me anyone what to take this on to educate people about what TRUTH means?

When you get behind something that is bigger than your Self or perhaps your own objectives, life changes and it takes on a greater purpose. I feel It s time to do what we Really want to, like now. As in its critical because the power of corporations and the corruption of the government is all of our responsibility. All this from a deep space of compassion and understanding though can you do that? YES YOU CAN. That may take some time to heal and introspect yet I know it s so worth it. I m choosing to be in that process now. I feel that its in this space where giving becomes a massive source of receiving for the ultimate fulfillment of life. We are spiritual beings having a human experience and opportunity to be authentic and creative is calling us all. Speak your truth and hold it in the context of love and compassion so that it can be more well received. Its important not to contribute to the sense of separation that is already reeking havoc on our planet. Lets be more kind to one another for starters.![]()
