The WWA Nationals at Lake Andrea, Wisconsin concluded today with Rusty Malinoski taking the top spot and leading the King of Wake series thus far.
"I'm stoked to win today, it's the first time I won this event, so I couldn't be happier right now," said Malinoski. "Winning Nationals is a great accomplishment for me."
Malinoski was in an intense final heat against Erik Ruck, Shaun Murray, Trevor Hansen, and his roommate Danny Harf. Keith Lidberg won best rail trick, taking home the Rip It Rail Award.
The biggest surprise of the day was Amber Wing taking first place in the Pro Women's division. Dallas Friday was competing for her sixth-consecutive title, but the third-year Australian pro took the win. Reed Hansen won the Pro Wakeskate division, Jimmy LaRiche won the Jr. Men's division, Jason Soven won the Jr. Boys division, Victoria Kulp won the Jr. Women's division, and Jacob Valdez won the Boys division. There were a lot of awards being handed out today.
