Rob Dyrdek - spreading skateboarding's good news.
A release that just dropped today announced that Rob Dyrdek and Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory A. Booker, along with Members of the Newark Municipal Council and New Jersey Devils Arena Chairman Jeff Vanderbeek will hold a press conference tomorrow, August 25, 2011 to formally announce funding for a new concrete park in Newark at Hayes Park East.
The Rob Dyrdek Foundation is donating up to $50,000 worth of in-kind design work and $25,000 in funding for hard construction costs for the proposed skate plaza at Hayes Park East. Additionally, Street League Skateboarding will donate the course obstacles from its nationally televised event being held at the Prudential Center this weekend, valued at $35,000, to the park, for a total dollar amount of $110,000.
And just to think... it all started with Rob's first park in Kettering, Ohio.
