With the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach only a week away, Rip Curl is proud to announce that their wildcard competitors will be Bethany Hamilton and Gabriel Medina.

Gabriel Medina will face off again the top 34 surfers but Medina seems confident in his contest riding. "I've gained a lot of experience since last year," said Medina. "Competing against Mick Fanning twice last year helped me to learn how to compete better this year."

Soul surfer, Bethany Hamilton will be competing against the Top 17 in women's surfing. After suffering a traumatic shark attack, Hamilton has been catching people's attention with her talent and drive. "This year especially, the Women's Top 17 has a lot of new, young girls who are driven and competitive, and who have so much talent that they are pushing the level of Women's surfing more and more," said Hamilton. "It's really exciting to watch, therefore I'm excited to compete at Bells!"

The Rip Curl Pro presented by Ford will kick off April 19th at Bells Beach
