The big day is manana! (That means 'tomorrow' en espanol.) That's
right, X Fighters is coming to Madrid, Spain this weekend where ten of
the best FMX riders in the world will compete for the world title. And
that's what's so cool about X Fighters. This is a world competition.
Not just a U.S. thing.
Superstars, young guns, old friends and
up-and-rising rookie talents - anything the international FMX elite has
to offer is getting ready for the last stop of the 2007 Red Bull
X-Fighters tour! At only 20 years of age, local hero Dany "DT" Torres
(ESP) not only won the Red Bull X-Fighters in Mexico City this year but
also came in third at the Slane Castle event. He leads the tour now.
Swiss
Mat Rebeaud's progression throughout the tour has been notable, too.
Having just recovered from a broken femur, he came in fourth in Mexico
City and second at Slane Castle. The big TP is slated to be in Madrid
to try to repeat his victory at Slane Castle this year. So, you should
expect a good show from Pastrana, especially since his appearances in
FMX contests are becoming more rare.
Be on the lookout for Japan's
super styler Eigo Sato. Nate Adams (USA) took second place in Mexico
but skipped the Ireland contest. Now he returns to Madrid, a place of
triumph for him (victory of the Red Bull X-Fighters 2005). This will be
only the second time that Adams and Pastrana will compete against each
other this year. So, that should be interesting.
And then there's
the young guns. French kid Charles Pagès' pumped-up, flip-loaded
performance at Slane Castle (7th place) was something even Travis
Pastrana was shaking his head about. So watch out for this guy! Known
as the "Czech Hammer," Libor Podmol will definitely try to leave his
mark at Las Ventas. The talented Andrè Villa from Norway is expected to
bring his much appreciated style, flip combos and lookbacks to Madrid
while Aussie boy Matt Schubring's début at the Red Bull X-Fighters
should put on a good show.
Check out all the action at
www.redbullxfighters.com and watch the live webcast on July 27, 2007,
at 3:30 p.m. ET / 12.30 p.m. PT.

Totino\'s Field Notes

Totino's Field Notes

Totino's Field Notes - Road to the 2010 US Open of Snowboarding. It's been an interesting year for Totino's team riders Danny Davis and Mason Aguirre. After starting strong in the Fall and early season, with great contest results at the Totino's Open in Breckenridge, both riders suffered injuries. Danny is out for the year, but Mason recently came back and plans to throw down at next week's US Open of Snowboarding in Stratton, VT.
