This past Saturday the Red Bull Butter Cup tour buttered and pressed its way into NYC as part of the Winter Jam NYC event at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York. In partnership with NYC Parks and the Prospect Park Alliance, Red Bull Butter Cup was a highlight event offering riding for Ams and Pros from around the East. The rainy weather did not scare off the 60 riders that came out to impress the judges and the few thousand spectators that stopped by the event throughout the day to check out the action. Riders traveled from as far as Albany, NY, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut to ride in this year s event.

AM division winner Mark Martinez brought a variety of tricks and butter combos from Albany to take top honors and walk away with a new Forum Snowboard and an armload of new gear. The Grom Award was given out to 8-year-old ripper Jack Armbruster from Brooklyn, NY. The women had seven riders putting down their best tricks, in the end it was Erica Cann that put down trick after trick with clean style, walking away with the 1st place Butter Cup trophy. The Pro division had some top area talent pressing and stomping combinations on the four Butter Cup features to impress our special guest judges, pro riders and brothers, Hans and Nils Mindnich.
At the end of the final heat, New Jersey and Mountain Creek local, Tom Weiss took the win and the trip to Camp Woodward for a week this coming summer. The top three in each division took away a bunch of gear from event partners: Forum, Oakley, Nike 6.0, Neff, Ride Brooklyn, Magical GoGo and Snowboarder Mag.
