Laird Hamilton on Laird gives some laid-back Kaua'i advice to Candace
as title characters Phineas and Ferb look on.

It looks like more kids and tweens will be introduced to a surf star through the popular TV show "Phineas and Ferb." Big wave surfer Laird Hamilton will provide his voice to an animated version of himself in the two-part Hawaiian vacation episode. Disney XD creates programming mainly for young boys, and they sometimes incorporate action sports and celebrities into their shows. Hopefully more stuff like this will inspire kids to get into sports like surfing.

Press Release:

"Phineas and Ferb Hawaiian Vacation" During a Hawaiian family vacation, Candace finds a cool lava rock necklace and is plagued with bad luck, so a native tells her she must take it to the top of a volcano, which spoils the cool, calm vibe she learned from a Hawaiian yoga instructor. Phineas and Ferb go with Candace and along the way, they ride a few waves with pro surfer Laird Hamilton. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz is also at the same volcano, trying to make the population less intelligent with a "de-evolution-inator."

Guest starring is pro surfer Laird Hamilson as himself and reporter Allie Mac Kay (Los Angeles' KTLA Morning News) as a yoga instructor.

Produced in traditional 2D animation, Phineas and Ferb follows Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother, Ferb Fletcher, who set out to conquer boredom and make every day of their 104-day summer vacation count, even if it means building a giant marine aquarium, creating their own video games or rebuilding an alien aircraft. Their older sister, Candace, makes it her mission to get the boys in trouble but every time without fail, the proof she needs mysteriously disappears by the time she can get Mom to come and see her brothers' antics. Meanwhile, the family's pet, Perry the Platypus, may seem like any other domesticated house pet but he has a secret life as suave Agent P, deftly battling the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz to save the Tri-State area.

This episode of "Phineas and Ferb" airs Monday, July 12 (7:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.
