The Pan Pacific Festival has been going on this in conjunction with King Kamehameha day. Last night they held our annual Ho'olaulea, which is a Hawaiian Style block party with food and entertainment all throughout Waikiki which is blocked off so nobody can drive through. Today we had two parades going on, which was great for surfers who were able to get in before they closed the roads, a move that kept the crowds down. There was one parade at 9:30am and one at 4:30pm. Forget the plastic Hula dolls that dance mechanically to Elvis, todays parade was an authentic showcase of Hawaiian culture.ÂÂ
Congradulations to Ha'a Aikau (yes he is Clyde Aikau's son) who won his division at the Hawaii State Championships yesterday. Ha'a is a Bowls local, so we were all stoked for him.
Q-bert will be going off tonight at Lotus!
So much excitement right now, I can barely take it all in.
