The second day of the Dew Tour Pantech Beach Open closed out with an electrifying skateboard vert competition and it was Pierre-Luc Gagnon that came out victorious this year. The Canadian's smooth, technical run complete with a kickflip fakie, switch heelflip 360 and a kickflip body varial 540 earned him the top spot. Bucky Lasek and Sandro rounded out the podium, placing second and third, respectively.
“It feels great to win again at the Dew Tour,” said PLG. “I had a hard time in practice, but kept my cool and threw it down when it mattered. I’ve done this a bunch of times, so I knew what I had to do.” He also appreciated the strong support of the beach spectators. “The fans are so into it here in Ocean City,” he said. “It feels great to perform in front of a crowd like this.”
The action at the Pantech Beach Championships will continue on Sunday Aug. 19 with the BMX Park and Skate bowl finals, which you can catch live on NBC, as well as the BMX and Skate Mega 2.0 events new to this year's competition.
