I wasn't nervous the night before but on the morning of April 11, but I was a little apprehensive to ski. My weird gut feeling wouldn't go away. Just nerves I thought. The men started out the first day of the Finals for the World Tour 2008. They got started at 12:30pm not the 9:30am start the event organizers were hoping for.

I started the hour-plus hike a bit before 3pm along with the other women competitors. As we made our way up the steep boot pack we watched a few men complete their runs. As I closed in on my first inspection point of the venue, I could see other women competitors standing on top watching the men ski down. When I got to the edge, the competition had been cancelled for the day after fellow competitor John Nicoletta took a serious fall.

The day April 11 is special to me as two friends, one a dear friend, of the Freeskiing community progressed into another sphere of life on the same day a year apart. They will be remembered and honored for their passion and love for the sport. We love you and will miss you!
