Maira Khan with her rescuer James Pribram
A woman nearly drowns to death after being swept into the water at Laguna's Pearl Street Beach. Luckily the woman, Maira Khan was saved by professional surfer, James Pribram. Pribram just happened to be sitting on his mother's porch when he saw Khan get knocked into the water by waves.
Without hesitation, Pribram yelled to his mom to call 911 as he ran into the ocean to save her. From The Orange County Register, Khan was struggling to stay above water. She thought to herself "Oh my God, is this the end?"; just then Pribram was able to come to her rescue "I got you, I won't let anything happen to you, she heard him say."
Pribram got her to safety and as soon as paramedics got to Khan, he walked back up the beach. Khan wanted to thank her rescuer so she asked an off-duty lifeguard who he was.
After going home and googling the professional surfer/ life saver, Khan emailed him and they were able to meet up so she could properly thank him. The video story is below but make sure to read the full thing on the OC Register site.
