League trophy and bragging rights at the second
Street League stop in Ontario, June 14-16
There was no surprise Saturday night when Nyjah Huston came out on top yet again at the 2012 Street League DC Pro Tour fueled by Monster Energy in Ontario, Calif. Fans were in for a rad show of some of the top pro skateboarders in the nation battling it out at the Citizens Business Bank Arena that was completely sold out. Huston claimed a fat $150,000 check after landing the highest score of the day (47.7) by sticking in a Caballerial Kick Flip Backside Lipside in the Best Trick Section. The last section of the finals brought out an all-out thrashing between Huston, Ortiz, Malto, and Oliveira. However, it was Ortiz who clinched second with a score of 46.2 followed by Malto with a score of 45.9 to round out the podium.
Jimmy Carlin was voted by the 24 SLS pros to win the Zumiez 24-7 Award and a cool $7,000 while Tom Asta picked up the Chevrolet Overdrive award worth $10,000 after stomping some amazing tricks that included a kick flip frontside noseslide and a switch frontside heelflip down the big set.
Here are the top five finishers:
1. Nyjah Huston - 47.7 pt
2. Chaz Ortiz - 46.2 pt
3. Sean Malto - 45.9 pt
4. Luan Oliveira - 40.4 pt
5. Paul Rodriguez - 37.5 pt
