One of my favorite blogs is a BMX/design site called Defgrip. Founded by graphic designer/BMX industry fixture Harrison Boyce Defgrip fuses two very disparate topics into a surprisingly sensible product.
One of Harrison's partners at Defgrip, Nuno Oliveira, recently headed to the UK to cover the Nike 6.0 Tunnel Jam. Nike has been throwing a ton of weight behind action sports over the last few years.
Not coincidentally a report surfaced yesterday saying that Nike's action sports business grew 25% in the last three months, easily one of the fastest growing segments of the sportswear giant.
So that being said it's no surprise that Nike flew Nuno and a gang of riders, media and industry folks to the UK for their first-ever Tunnel Jam. Taking place in...you guessed it...a tunnel, the jam was a breath of fresh air in the comp scene and provided a truly impressive backdrop.
The photos really do most of the talking. If you like excellent photography and a solid photo essay then by all means check it out on Defgrip.
