The pressure on Quiksilver is on more than ever. First the sharks from Vans owner VF Corp were circling with interest to take DC Shoes off of Quiksilver's hands, now it looks like they are interested in the whole thing. Not to be outdone, global sportswear gian Nike has expressed very strong interest in the family of brands as well.ÂÂ
Quiksilver was poised to become a formidable global sportswear competitor against brands like Nike had they not blown up their balance sheet with the acquisition of Rossignol a few years back. Since then they have been struggling to find a way out, and at this point selling all or part of the company may be the only answer.
