What do you get when you mix a tasty beverage with 6 of today s most prominent artists? You get a tasty beverage in bottles featuring some mind-blowing art and perhaps the best pairing since PB&J.

Mountain Dew, coming off the success of its Green Label Art Volumes 1&2, is about to unveil its latest limited edition series of 6 collectible aluminum bottles adorned with custom designs in Green Label Art: Volume 3. The GLA project takes a fresh approach to package design with its unique artist line-up; the 3rd roster includes Pushead, Nathan Cabrera, Jeff McMillan, Stephen Bliss, UPSO and Claw Money.

To complement the bottles, Green Label Art: Volume 3 will be hosting an under-the-cap sweepstakes on its specially marked 20-oz bottles of Mountain Dew. GLA teamed up with companies WeSC, Adidas, Zoo York, Burton Snowboards, G-Shock and New Era to produce some dope collaborative products featuring the art elements from the Volume 3 contributors.

BNQT.com recently caught up with Jeff McMillan, UPSO and Claw Money to get their thoughts on what it was like to work on this epic project...

BNQT: Was it difficult to translate your art onto a bottle, or have you done something like this before?

Jeff McMillan: Kind of, I'm a painter, so I was concerned about how my art would translate on the bottle. But I think it turned out great. It was cool seeing my art on a bottle-like canvas.

UPSO: Most of my work is 2D so it was a really interesting process trying to imagine how my illustrations would look on the curves of a bottle. I did some mock-ups, but it wasn't until I saw the first 3D digital render from Mountain Dew that I really got a sense of how it would look.

Jeff McMillan

BNQT: None of the GLA bottles look the same, each bottle stands out; what does individuality mean to you?

Jeff McMillan: It means you're the captain of your ship. I think it's important that each bottle looks different. It gives the audience a choice and it gives them a chance to collect all six. Everyone in the group did a kick ass job designing their own bottle.

Claw Money: Well I put the visual in indivisuality. Ha! Individuality is my trademark, ask about Claw Money!

UPSO

BNQT: What does it mean to you to be recognized as one of the six artists chosen to be involved with this project?

UPSO: It's a huge honor. Knowing that my work is going to be viewed by complete strangers across the country is a really surreal feeling.

Claw Money: It was an honor to be asked as the first female artist in the series. There are some serious contenders and I am happy to be part of the gang.

BNQT: Do you "Do the Dew"?

UPSO: Of course! I'm a Diet Dew man myself. :)

Claw Money: Like every second! I'm always Dewing something...

Claw Money

BNQT: Did the infamous neon-yellow color of Mountain Dew influence the color palette of your design?

Jeff McMillan: It did. The color palette I used was in the purple family, the greenish yellow color is the opposite on the color wheel, which makes my Dew-colored moon stand out on my bottle. I like the idea of having a competing color inside the bottle, makes it more of a surprise.

UPSO: Absolutely. While I wanted to make the bottle my own, I wanted the spirit of Mountain Dew to come through in my illustrations. The color is so poppy, how could I not let it influence me?

Check the pics above to see the complete GLA Volume 3 series of bottles and gear you can win by picking up select GLA bottles of Mountain Dew. These rad bottles will be available at select US retailers for only eight weeks beginning Labor Day, September 7. You know what to dew!!
