Moto Mondays:Lakewood 250 Race Report 2010

Round five of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in Lakewood, CO was held under nice sunny skies with some threatening clouds late in the day but the rain would hold off until after the races.
Moto number one would see Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki and current series points leader Christophe Pourcel take the holeshot with his teammate Dean Wilson right behind him.
Following the two Pro Circuit riders in third was Geico Powersports Honda rider Trey Canard.
The top three would remain close and finish the race in those positions with Pourcel winning moto number one.
Pourcel and Wilsons teammate Tyla Rattray would charge hard and get around DNA Shred Stix Yamaha rider Martin Davalos and Canard s teammate Blake Wharton for a fourth spot finish in the moto.
Finishing fifth behind Rattray was DNA Shred Stix Yamaha rider Broc Tickle.
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Jake Weimer and Geico Powersports Honda Justin Barcia were involved in a big second turn crash starting the moto almost dea last with Weimer finishing 10 in the moto and
Barcia finishing sixteenth.
In moto two this time it would be Canard who would take the early holeshot and lead the race till just about the halfway point before Pourcel would make his move and take the lead and the moto win along with the overall win for the day with a 1-1 score, his first of the season.
Canard would hold on to second in the moto and second overall for the day.
Finishing third in the moto and overall was Dean Wilson.
Rounding out the top five in moto two would be Tyla Rattray in fourth and Broc Tickle in fifth finishing sixth overall for the day.
The top five overalls in the 250 class would be Pourcel, Canard, Wilson, Rattray, and Wharton.
Pourcel now leads the series by 34 points.
The exciting 250 race action continues at The Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship next weekend from Buchanan, MI at round six for the Rockstar Energy RedBud National on July third.
