The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship kicked off Independence Day weekend with round 6 of the Rockstar
Energy RedBud National in Buchanan, MI.
The highly energetic fans would be treated to some awesome racing in the always exciting 250 class.
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Christophe Pourcel pulled the holeshot in moto one followed closely by his two teammates Tyla Rattray and Dean Wilson.
Geico Honda Powersports rider Justin Barcia would battle his way around Wilson briefly for the third spot until he would go down handing the spot back to Wilson.
At the end of moto one Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki would go 1-2-3 with Pourcel, Rattray and Wilson on the podium.
The fourth spot in moto one would go to the hard charging ride of Geico Honda Powersports rider Trey Canard who started the race outside the top 10.
Barcia would finish the moto one in the fifth spot.
Moto two would see Dean Wilson this time take the holeshot but it was not long before Barcia and Canard would be in a battle for the second position.
The two teammates battled hard but Canard would not be deinied getting around Barcia. As soon as he did he set his sights on Wilson and a few laps later made the pass for the lead and would go on to win moto two and take the overall for the day to stand on top of the podium. Both would be firsts for for the young Geico Powersports Honda rider.
Wilson would finish in the second position and take third overall for the day.
Despite finishing fifth in moto two Pourcel would finish on the podium with a third overall for the day going 1-5.
Barcia would take third in the moto and finish fourth overall.
Barica s teammate Blake Wharton would finish the second moto in fourth handing him fifth overall for the day.
So the top five for moto two would be, Canard, Wilson, Barcia, Wharton and Pourcel.
Pourcel points lead is 43 after round six here at Redbud.
