McMorris is cocky, but he's right. And so is DTom. White is an amazing halfpipe rider who gets very little respect from real snowboarders because he's basically a sellout. That might sound like jealousy to outsiders, but it's a fact. Dressing like a Spinal Tap extra and making razor scooters will do that to your image.

Mark is just saying what the rest of us in the scene have been saying for years. PROPS TO THAT MAN!

Maybe Mark should win a few more competitions before opening his hole. When he performs at the level that White has for as long as White has then he can talk. White is not my favorite snowboarder in fact far from it but you cannot take away what he has already accomplished in his career. White's career results speak louder than anything McMorris has to say.

What McMorris is saying is completely relevant to the current situation. Whether it be judges over scoring his runs higher in order to raise ratings (like his 100 pt halfpipe run last year, where he obviously put his hand down, and missed a grab) or just out of irrational over scoring. X-games is an event run by ESPN, which caters to so many outside of the snowboard world, who have no knowledge of scoring criteria or riders other than Shaun White, and they plan to create hype around him by falsly claiming that he is 'the best.'

X-Games = TV show Is Shaun White a great pipe rider? absolutely Is Shaun White a great slopestyle rider? NO!!! He can't make rails look good and rails are as much part of slopestyle as jumps. He's the same way when it comes to skateboarding, great at one discipline but far from being a great skater. He goes higher than anyone but is less technical than most. Back to McMorris's argument, if judges want to score White's slopestyle runs the same way they scored him at last year's Euro-X, than might as well not put any rails and start calling the event Big Air x3. It's not that I hate on him, I fully respect his skills, but please respect the snowboard community and don't try to feed us BS about Shaun being a relevant slopestyle rider in 2013. The game has changed so much over tha past few years, you need proper grabs and technical rail tricks. Any kid with a trampoline can learn doubles, but it takes years to master style. I'm sorry, but boot grabs and 45 degrees boardslides just don't cut it for me.
