A packed house goes crazy for the product toss at
the world premiere of Level 1's Refresh
This past Friday night, veteran ski film company Level 1 Productions celebrated their tenth year making some of the most highly watched films in the industry with the world premiere of their newest offering, Refresh.
The Bluebird Theatre in downtown Denver hosted the special night and I ve personally never seen a movie premiere with so much hype and excitement as this one. The line for the ticket window literally went around the block there were so many people trying to get in, to the point where the premiere eventually sold out and exactly 685 people were ready to party. Of course the night was bound to be legendary.
Athletes Wiley Miller, Tom Wallisch, Stefan Thomas, and Mike Clarke all sat down to sign posters for some fans before the movie started, while other moviegoers decided to skip the athlete signing and lubricate the social gears at the bar. The anticipation for the movie built as raffles, giveaways, and frozen T-shirt contents took place.
The lights finally went dark and the opening shots of Refresh began to play. The crowd went crazy cheering on their favorite athletes throughout the opening credits. However when Warren Miller s name popped up as a special guest narrator throughout the movie, everyone lost it! As usual with any Level 1 film it s hard to watch straight through the first time only because you want to keep going back to what you just saw in complete disbelief and re-watch it over and over. Whether it s Adam Delorme s seemingly effortless ability to slay the park, Wiley Miller s helmet cam footage from AK, or any other number of Level 1 athletes pushing the sport of skiing, the latest offering from Level 1 totally redefines what a newschool ski movie can be. The soundtrack is so strong that I even noticed people dancing throughout the movie oblivious to the talent being displayed on the screen in front of them.
Following the movie, the party moved from the Bluebird down a block to the always eclectic Rockbar where everyone enjoyed themselves in, on, or around a sweaty dance floor. It was without a doubt a night to remember, but if you didn t get to make it out to the world premiere, the Boulder premiere is always second best and you can check out Refresh at the Boulder Theater on September 23, and in Salt Lake City on October 1.
