Speedboarding might be banned in Laguna Beach
A few weeks ago we brought up the heated battle between skateboarders vs. the city of Laguna Beach; some residents are concerned about the fast-moving sport of speedboarding startling drivers as they back out of their driveway or turn onto residential roads.
City Council is now looking into banning skateboarding from over 20 areas within Laguna Beach. Due to some near collisions between skateboarder and drivers, meeting have been held in search for a plan to make the streets safer for vehicles and skaters alike.
Some ideas purposed have been speedboarding permits, regulation of skateboard speed, and the banning of skateboarding on certain roads.
While the issue of skateboarding in Laguna is still in debate, final decisions will be made tomorrow in a city council meeting.
